Description
Micro-credentials have been a topic of discussion and even contestation for many years. Micro-credentials are based on outcomes acquired through a short, transparently assessed learning programme or module over a few weeks. They are perceived as a more flexible way of acquiring and recognising knowledge, skills and competences.
Challenges related to the implementation of micro-credentials include the lack of a shared definition and the lack of incorporation into national QA systems. The webinar will highlight key issues that emerged from the research into the State of Play of Micro-credentials in Lesotho, Mauritius, Namibia and South Africa, respectively.
Presenter: Prof. Kirti Menon (Programme Director: DHET UJ Future Professors Programme Phase 2)
