[Stellenbosch, 16 March 2026] The Southern African Regional Universities Association (SARUA) welcomes Prof. Ketlhatlogile Mosepele, Vice-Chancellor of the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) in Gaborone, and Prof. Deresh Ramjugernath of Stellenbosch University to its Board of Directors. They join following the departure of Prof. Bettencourt Capece, former Rector of Universidade Zambeze, Mozambique, and Dr Andreas Mwoombola, former Vice-Chancellor of Welwitchia University.

Prof. Quinton Kanhukamwe, SARUA Chair, says, “We sincerely thank Prof. Capece and Dr Mwoombola for their service to SARUA. Their insights and guidance were invaluable in advancing our mission across the region. We also welcome Prof. Mosepele and Prof. Ramjugernath to the Board and look forward to the expertise and leadership they bring to shaping higher education in the SADC region”.
